As we continue to offer an increasing range of events for our members, we are pleased to announce the launch of the first ever Brentwood Chamber of Commerce ‘Kwik Cricket’ Tournament.
Kwik Cricket is a fun version of cricket suitable for people of all abilities, played on a smaller pitch with plastic bats. There are 6 players in a team and each player gets the opportunity to bat, bowl and field, making it a vibrant and exciting game. No previous experience is necessary!
The inaugural tournament will take place at Shenfield Cricket Club from 2-7pm on Thursday 22 September, followed by a barbecue and a chance to socialise and informally network.
Families and spectators are welcome to join us for the afternoon and separate tickets will be available to purchase to cover the cost of the BBQ.
Importantly, we are looking for 8 teams to participate. Each team will consist of 6 players (either all male, female or mixed teams welcome). To secure one of the 8 team places, please register your team now!
8 teams with 6 players per team
Teams will be allocated into two groups of 4
Each team will play each of the other 3 teams in their group
There will then be semi-finals for the winners and runners up in each group and a final for the two winning semi-finalists
Each side have one innings per match
An Innings lasts 8 Overs
Batting side start with 200 runs
Batting side is divided into 4 batting pairs, and each pair bat for two consecutive overs
Each time a batter is ‘out’ 5 runs are deducted, but the batter continues until the end of their two overs
Each player on the fielding team bowls for one over (can be under arm or over arm)
There will be a barbecue after the tournament at approximately 6pm, supplied by Claire from CJ Patisserie
