The Brentwood Chamber of Commerce August Business Breakfast proved to be another fantastic success, with 50 attendees joining us at FIGO Restaurant in Brentwood.

The event was a complete sell-out, bringing together local businesses, Chamber members, first-time visitors and representatives from Brentwood Borough Council.

Our host, Debbie, was fantastic and, together with the FIGO team, made everyone feel welcome from the moment they arrived. The restaurant provided an excellent setting for a busy morning of networking, introductions and new business opportunities.

Welcoming Our Council Representatives

We were delighted to welcome representatives from Brentwood Borough Council, including Jonathan Stephenson, Joint Chief Executive of Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council.

Having representatives from the Council attending our events helps strengthen communication between the local authority and Brentwood’s business community. It also creates opportunities for businesses to raise their profiles, build relationships and gain a better understanding of what is happening across the borough.

New Faces at the Breakfast

One of the most encouraging aspects of our monthly breakfasts is seeing new businesses attend for the first time.

This month, we welcomed:

• Scott Major from Zyntrix
• Rachel Johnson from Avendra International

We hope they enjoyed their first Brentwood Chamber Business Breakfast and made some valuable new contacts.

Turning Conversations into Opportunities

Business networking is about more than exchanging business cards. The real value comes from building trusted relationships, making introductions and actively looking for opportunities to support other local businesses.

Among the referrals generated this week were:

• A creative agency referred to a software developer
• A hotel referred to a restaurant
• A business coach referred to a telecoms provider

Attendees also requested one-to-one introductions between:

• A tree surgeon and a school
• A software developer and a payments company
• A celebrant and a theatre
• A creative agency and a procurement specialist

These connections demonstrate exactly what the Chamber’s Business Breakfasts are designed to achieve. Business opportunities are already present within the room, and every referral helps keep more business circulating within Brentwood and the surrounding area.

Our next Business Breakfast will take place at Brentwood School on Thursday 3 September.
